today is a special day for me. a special day for two reasons and they both involve one man who just so happens to be the love of my life. to understand why this day is special i have to tell a short but sweet story about love and taking a chance on love. and so the story goes ....

in february of 2000 i met my brother's best friend of 7 years for the first time ... sort of. we met on the phone as i was living a few states away. that first phone call began a six month courtship through the phone, emails and letters. it was an amazing six months that was missing one thing, actually meeting in person. many thought i was a touch crazy. thinking ... knowing, i loved a man i had never met. that all changed exactly ten years ago. that day my life began. it went something like this ...

august 12. meet for the first time. celebrate his birthday.
august 13. celebrate my birthday (yes. only a day apart)
august 14. decide to move in together. (that move was 1.5 months later 1400 miles away)

i have never looked back.

the leap i took 10 years ago led the way for 10 amazing years with an amazing man. he is not only smart, funny, humble, caring, compassionate, REALLY funny, and unbelievably hot (wowza!), but he will stop in a heart beat to help a stranger. he will go out of his way for friends and family. he is a hard worker and a kid at heart. he is an adventurer and seeks to live life to the fullest. and even though he is more comfortable camping in the middle of nowhere he will not hesitate to put on a suit and take me out on the town. he is the love of my life and the man i proudly call my husband.

happy birthday my love. you are my heart. you are my world. i have loved you for a thousand lifetimes and will love you for a thousand more.

it's not usual for us to meet the bride and groom the day of the wedding. but their east coast vibe made us feel right at home and it was as if we had known them for years. kristie + larry are wicked in love. they are also wicked good people. wicked good people who are wicked wickedly in love. go red sox!
